Inspired by a life-changing events
Established in 1991,Tropical Nights has set standards in our community for being the first and most reputable Caribbean-family restaurant to serve halal meat and pork free dishes which started a trend and many followed.
I received a reader's choice award from the Toronto Sun for having the best Caribbean restaurant in Toronto, which no other Caribbean restaurant won to date that I am aware of and the Scarborough Mirror did an amazing write up for Tropical Nights for being one of the best Restaurants in Scarborough.
I'm the first West Indian/South American to get a full-page coverage from the Toronto sun for my walk and from what I know no other west Indian has ever done the walk I did. Also, I received numerous certificates of appreciation from various charities for the contributions Tropical Nights made.
When someone stands out, should we not encourage and motivate them to continue making a difference?
Councillor Michael Thompson walked a few blocks with me on my walk to New York city. I received a congratulatory letter from the Prime Minister of Canada at the time for my walk.
Mayor John Tory once held a meeting at Tropical Nights and the last Rouge River electoral party of 2016 was also held at Tropical Nights. In addition, the Mayor of Toronto 21 years ago, attended my restaurant expansion celebration party and I received a letter from the Premier thanking me for making a difference in Ontario for the employment I provided.
Again, are these all not valid reasons for Tropical Nights to continue under its rightful owner?
